It has gone really quiet on this.
Not sure who is going now and my missus is not sounding to enthusiatic about it anymore, due to the costsv involved.
Might have to give it a miss this time, which is a shame because I wanted to see Squeeze & BC (even without the original line up)
Crying or Very sad
However, there is always our Halloween party which you're all invited to, where those who want can meet up
Surprised

Hi Aaron/Slowdm. you should be fine. let.me.describe the format for u. its pretty much an open camping field event. you can bring pretty much what u like. with regard to the field where the music is, u can take any booze u want in. there are beer and food stalls on the music field so that isnt a problem as uve probably.read its a family folk festval so all.ages are welcome. whilst its designed for ppl to.hqv a good time a lot of noise on the music or camping field is frowned upon. apart from.that its enjoy urself.
Razz any other info let me know

PostSubject: Re: Banbury Festival Meet   Banbury Festival Meet EmptyMon Feb 27, 2012 6:35 am

Just been on the festival website looks good. Free camping for me and my Vespa. Now 2 questions :- If i bring some sausage and bacon will i be able to use someone's calor gas cooker? Beer , as you can imagine space on a Vespa is limited , so would i get away with (well get inside without any bother) a case of cans in a bin bag securely strapped inside the legsheilds (precariously balanced between legs and without use of rear brake).
And no i'm not riding from coventry like that not at my age anyway .

Banbury Festival Meet Empty
PostSubject: Re: Banbury Festival Meet   Banbury Festival Meet EmptyMon Feb 06, 2012 1:55 pm

Here is link to site.
http://fairportconvention.com study study

this gives all lineup info as well as prices and availablilty.

the normal format for our visits is as follows.

Arrive Thurs as early as possible, depending on who goes it may be ppl beed a "family field" quieter and more amenities, showers toilets etc.

YOu are guided to the next available field otherwise as they fill them.
You park and set up your tent by your car so try and make a bit of room as you park to ensure a good pitch.

Set up tent and either chill by it or wander into the village, usually following the canal to the post office gets you there. there are two pubs in the village. the red lion is quieter and overlooks a churchyard, the Brasenose usually is louder as they have a big beer garden with bands on over the weekend.

bandsa start thurs night so its up to you if you want to get into the field (yes there is only one) and get a good spot.
usually can see stage from whereever so no real problem. when in field, you can either find a spot and put your chairs/blankets down and stay with them or if we are all lucky enough to get a larger spot there is usually someone who is willing to sit and watch then stuff hwile you wander. I would point out that we usually have small children with us so if ts a beer stained riotous weekend you're after I may have to come over to your spot to indulge. there is a bar in field as well as a lot of brill food stalls, you can take as much beer/food in as you like as there is no real check or restriction.

We come away Sunday afternoon after we have got up and taken tent down, this gives the traffic a chance to get out as is a small village and lanes/roads are narrow.

any other questions that are not answered on the site just ask. Question Question

Hmmm...it's Riannah not that Fleetwood Mac song.

But yes, we're going and so are a couple of friends who live "dahn saaf".

I believe they have announced the Saw Doctors and Joan Armatrading so far

...that's Cropready organisers have announced...not my friends "dahn saaf"
